This k-8 school in a large district purchased PINPOINT and administered the assessment to students in grades 3-6. Though their initial scores were low, teachers attacked areas PINPOINT identified as being weak. Students were re-assessed one week before they took their state tests. The reassessment showed a great deal of improvement, and state scores did as well. The school moved out of "academic emergency" by increasing its passing percentage from 36 to 62 percent.

This k-5 school in a big city district had a general student population, as well as a "gifted and talented" group of students. The principal decided to administer PINPOINT only to the general student body, assuming that the gifted students didn't require test-specific instruction that can be designed using our data. In every subject for which they used PINPOINT, the general student body achieved both a higher raw score, and higher passing percentage than the gifted and talented students, proving that you're never too smart to prepare for state tests.
